Did you know that creativity has power to ease anxiety, nervousness and depression?

Menopause can be a tough time for women both physically and mentally. It’s also a phase of life when women have more time and can explore their creative side. Women are natures creators, all have inherent creative traits they are born with and these can be explored and nurtured to improve mental wellbeing.

Practicing a creative crafts that’s close to one’s heart will make one ‘flow.’ Deeper one goes and sinks in creative pursuit, one will get immersed, losing a sense of self and time! Its then you will discover a feeling of ease, improved mood, and reduced nervousness. Additionally when you create something, the ‘result’ or your creation makes brain release feel good chemical or dopamine!

Researches show that engaging in creative activities such as playing a musical instrument, crocheting/knitting/embroidery/stitching, doodling/mandala/writing, dancing, story telling, diy crafting, crossword puzzles and even gardening/spending time in nature can help relieve stress or anxiety and has higher activated positive affect. These positive effects manifest in moods including joy, happiness, and optimism.

Invest as little as an hour a day on creative pursuits to discover a happier version of yourself.
